Recreating the role of the Irish in the American Civil War 1861-65

Left: The year is 1777 and the 13 British colonies have risen against the mother country. Hearing that a strong force of Red coats supported by bands of marauding Iroquois are in the area, the Ulster county militia march off to war.

Above Right: The Americans walk straight into an ambush.

Below Right: The Americans try to form a firing line as the British advance.

The Ambush.

Above Left: Unable to stand up to the disciplined volleys of the Red Coats, the militia men fall back to the shelter of a nearby farmstead.

Above Right: Seeing the American line begin to waver, the Iroquois rush forward to overwhelm any stragglers.

Below Left: The 47th Foot launch a head on assault against the farm while, Below Right: The Americans prepare to make a final stand.
