Recreating the role of the Irish in the American Civil War 1861-65

Welcome to the War of 1812 Page. This is a temporary page, giving information on the War of 1812 event at the Folk Park in July 2010. It also gives information on portraying US Soldiers, regulars, militia and artillery.

Dates: The event will run on Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th at the Ulster American Folk Park.

 

Invited Groups: The following groups from outside of Ireland have been invited and have confirmed their attendance.

The Iroquois (Germany)

Artillery (England)

The Coldstream Guards 1815 (England)

The 33rd Foot (England)

The 42nd Black Watch (Italy)

 

The event:

It’s the summer of 1814 near the border between Canada and the US. There’s a US and British encampment and an Iroquois village. We normally have two or more battles per day. 

 

US Forces:

US Regulars and Militia portrayed by Irish reenactors

US Militia or Regular artillery

 

British Forces:

The Coldstream Guards 1815

The 33rd Foot

The 42nd Black Watch

 

The Iroquois fought for both the British and the US during the War of 1812.
